Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 2: Get'n Dirty (AKA Stunt Track Driver 2) released in 2000, and marks the second major PC Hot Wheels game developed by Semi Logic and published (of course) by Mattel Interactive. While this release came just two years after the original, it doesn't seem to have the same appreciation from fans but we thought it was worth revisiting.

As I mentioned in the intro video (   • Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 2 Getn Dirty...  ), by moving the tracks outdoors and off-road it really doesn't feel as nostalgic and relatable as the previous game. The indoor aspec tjust leaned hard into that dream of building a really cool track all around the house, and here it just goes into full fantasy without minimal track. Again - everyone has their preference, but it just felt lacking.

All of that aside, the real hidden gem of this game that will be worthy of it's own video, is the custom track builder. They went all-out for this one by building an ACTUAL 3d racing simulator. It boggles my mind that instead of overhauling the entire game to mirror this, they (essentially) bolted it to the game as an afterthought. Benefit of the doubt here - maybe that was a reflection of the average computer at the time not being able to render that portion well, but who knows. I'd love to speak with someone who worked on the game to learn a little more.
