The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act which was introduced by Braverman and passed last year gave the #police powers to severely limit and even stop peaceful protests.
The Public Order Act which was rushed through Parliament last week now gives the police power to stop and search any person or vehicle entirely at will and without any reason.
This measure ,which was not asked for nor wanted by the police, puts the UK in a similar category as Russia and Belarus in terms of state power over the citizen. It makes the UK a #policestate
The #coronation of King Charles is set to be a very extravagant affair costing the taxpayer between £100 and £250 million. It is questionable if this is appropriate given the very serious financial circumstances of many of the subjects of #kingcharles . Surely a more modest coronation paid for by him would have been more appropriate?
