The Project
"même pas peur - I am not afraid"
A childhood catchphrase that becomes an adult rallying cry. Recent events in France have given birth to a new reality, a reality of pervasive fear. Something unprecedented for the western world, which starting in France has spread and is affecting the daily lives of all Europeans. An unclear and unspecified threat that, if not met with courage and persistence, is capable of leading entire social groups to extreme behaviours, restricting democratic rights, and overall upsetting the societal balance.
This is the very essential and very topical issue that we have attempted to approach through Art.
Guided by two parallel poetic monologues (by M. Sachtouri and K. Dimoula) and the use of optical reformations, we have created three spatial visual installations.
Through fragmentation and the fragments of the elements, fear is born as speech - but also through the fragments, courage and hope emerges in the slogan "même pas peur - I am not afraid”.
