Earthquake in Myanmar: Ongoing Impacts & Support

The aftermath of the late March earthquake in Myanmar continues to pose challenges, with shortages of shelter, clean water, and medical supplies. Damaged infrastructure is hindering rescue efforts, and hospitals remain overwhelmed.

In neighboring Thailand — where disruptions were minimal — transport, tourism, and relocation services are fully operational. Our local partners remain equipped to assist with inbound/outbound moves.


UK Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) Changes: Key Updates

As of 1 April 2024, the UK’s Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) thresholds have shifted, impacting homeowners and renters:

Homebuyers:

0% tax now applies only up to £125,000 (previously £250,000).

2% rate for £125,001–£250,000 (up from 0%).

Rental Market:

Tax now applies to leases with cumulative rents exceeding £125,000 (previously £250,000), affecting both new and existing agreements—especially in high-cost areas like London.
