2024 Annual Evaluation Review: Insights and Perspectives

Each year, the Annual Evaluation Review (AER) summarizes the development effectiveness of ADB based on IED’s findings that year. The 2024 AER gives an update on the trends in ADB’s operational performance based on IED assessments completed in 2023. The evaluation also gives an analysis of the extent to which ADB’s country engagement approaches and practices supported the country focus of ADB’s Strategy 2030.

U.S. Executive Director Ambassador Chantale Wong, DG IED Manny Jimenez, DG PARD Leah Gutierrez, and SPD Director Lu Shen discuss progress made in implementing evaluation recommendations, as well as the importance of quality stakeholder engagement in achieving balanced outcomes for DMCs and ADB shareholders. Srinivasan Palle Venkata, Senior Evaluation Specialist presented the key findings and lessons from the 2024 AER, which provided the context to the discussion.
