The same guns are killing us in the U.S. and Mexico.

Last week, a U.S. delegation of gun violence survivors and advocates traveled to Mexico to share their experiences of grief and healing, to stand in solidarity with those impacted by the flood of U.S.-sourced firearms fueling violence across the border, and take to action to stop the deadly flow of U.S. guns across the border.

We met with high-ranking Mexican officials, civil society organizations, and families of the forcibly disappeared to build cross-border strategies for action. At least 70% of crime guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States — a crisis we must confront together.

The delegation shared survivor-led policy solutions to reduce gun violence, hold the U.S. firearms industry accountable, and support Mexico’s efforts to stem gun trafficking.

The week culminated in the Binational Day of Action in Mexico City, where voices from both countries joined together in one clear message: our lives are intertwined — and so is our struggle for justice, peace, and lasting change.
