Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel Podcast, where we bring you the best tips and tricks for mastering Excel. In today's episode, we will be discussing how to customize the Excel ribbon to make your workflow more efficient. If you enjoy this video, please consider subscribing and hitting that notification bell.

During a recent webinar, a viewer from Texas, Ronnie W, shared a game-changing tip for customizing the ribbon. He suggested adding the "Show in Tabular Form" option to the quick access toolbar, making it easily accessible with just one click. This simple tip has saved me so much time and frustration, and I want to thank Ronnie by sending him an Excel Guru patch.

But that's not all, Ronnie also shared two more amazing tips for customizing the ribbon. The first one is about controlling the size of the icons on the ribbon. By creating multiple groups with five or less icons in each, you can ensure that the icons stay large and easy to click on. The second tip is to make your custom tab the default tab by moving it above the Home tab. This way, your most frequently used commands will always be at your fingertips.

Now, let's see how to implement these tips. Right-click on the ribbon and select "Customize the Ribbon." Click on "New Tab" and "New Group" to create a new tab and group. Rename the tab and move it above the Home tab. Then, add your desired commands to the group. You can also create multiple groups for different categories of commands. Once you're done, click "OK" and your custom tab will appear on the ribbon.

To make your custom tab the default, go to File, Options, General, and uncheck the "Show the Start screen when this application starts" option. This way, every time you open Excel, your custom tab will be the default. And if you need to use a command from the Home tab, you can always access it from there.

I hope these tips will help you customize your Excel ribbon and make your work more efficient. To download the workbook used in this video, check the link in the description below.
