And now for something completely different.. Week 8 of this year's Red Bull Bedroom Jam serves a new winner and the least we can say, so far Atomic Spliff is definitely the odd one out in the line-up of finalists. Hailing from Liège, this seven piece combo describes itself as a soundsystem and has been spreading the Jah word for more than a decade. "We have always been intrigued by the positive vibe and message of hope and joy that comes with reggae music", explains singer Jonathan Winthagen after we finally find him in a thick cloud of flavoured smoke. "Jamaican vibes bring out the best in people and that's exactly what we've been trying to communicate through our music and live sets for the last ten years."

Atomic Spliff will battle it out with 9 other bands on May 11th at Trix in an attempt to get their hands on a podium spot at Dour Festival. A reggae band amongst the metal and rock bands that make up the line-up for the Red Bull Bedroom Jam final, is that a fair battle? "You'll see we bring a very vibrant set with different influences. At least three of our band members have a history in rock and metal, so it won't just be chill out music. Atomic Spliff stands for a party and that's exactly what we plan to do at the Red Bull Bedroom Jam final. We will make all those rock and metal fans dance in Trix!"
