Debut Concept Album "Melody Hill: On the Other Side" Set to Release November 1st.

ATHENS —"Melody Hill: On the Other Side," the debut album by Australian author, poet and singer-songwriter Jessica Bell, will be available on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from online distributors worldwide. The grunge-pop, atmospheric concept album is the soundtrack for Bell 's novel " String Bridge " (Lucky Press, LLC.), also available Nov. 1.

Bell is the founder of the group spAnk (1997-2001) and the daughter of Demetri Vlass and Erika Bach, leaders of the indie band Hard Candy. In 2008 she performed solo as the opening act for Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs at Rodeo Live Club in downtown Athens , Greece .

Since 2008, Bell 's creative efforts have been focused on writing, and the release of her debut novel " String Bridge " inspired her accompanying rock album "Melody Hill."

"Melody Hill" is the classic soundtrack album and channels the musical stylings of PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Nick Cave , Joni Mitchell, Nightmares on Wax, Enigma, among others.

The songs are written from the perspective of Melody, the main character from " String Bridge ," as she plans a return to the stage, reviving a musical career she previously abandoned for motherhood. Bell as songwriter mirrored Melody's musical influences in crafting the album.

In collaboration with George Priniotakis from Artracks Recording Studios in Athens, the styles of rock, pop, folk, and ambience were combined to create an atmospheric grunge CD that is also a visceral and addictive lyrical story.
