In this short lesson, I introduce a rhythm exercise built around shifting 16th-note accents.

By moving the accent to different parts of the beat, this exercise helps you better understand syncopation, improve your timing, and develop a stronger internal sense of rhythm. These are essential skills for playing guitar effectively, and often the reason why parts don’t sound the way you want them to.

We count the exercise out and play it slowly so you can really feel where each accent lands. This is a great practice tool for rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and anyone looking to tighten up their time feel.
