Reps Move to Transit Nigeria to Parliamentary System of Government

The call for Nigeria to ditch the presidential system of government and return to the parliamentary system is on the increase. A group of 60 lawmakers in the House of Representatives proposed an amendment to the 1999 constitution for a departure from the presidential system of government to the parliamentary system. They said parliamentary system is cheaper, more effective and more accountable than the presidential system.
