Описание к видео Tuning the MX3 with PID-Analyzer and drone bird strikes!

This is one of those rare days during winter when we actually got some sunshine on the weekend so I took the MX3 for a spin to try out the new RumCam Micro Sparrow cam, Emax Pagoda 2 antenna and EWRF e7092TM VTX I've installed.

More importantly, I'd started using PID Analyzer(https://github.com/Plasmatree/PID-Ana...) and for the first time ever managed to tune a quad better than the stock BetaFlight PIDs. I can't say enough about how awesome it is to have a tool that removes all the subjectivity quad tuning normally involves and gives a novice like myself more of an objective insight into how changes in the P, I & D values really affect the response of the quad. In the case of PID-Analyzer, that feedback comes in the form of three step-response curves for the roll, pitch and yaw axes respectively. I was able to do all the tuning indoors by just hovering around the living room with an OpenLog data logger connected up to a free serial port, then process resulting blackbox log file using the PID-Analyzer tool to see the response graphs. Tune a bit more, fly, analyze logs and repeat and eventually you end up with an awesomely tuned quad! For me the testament to this tool's effectiveness is that IMO, my quad has never felt more responsive and locked in, to the point where I feel confident enough to push harder, fly faster and allow for a smaller margin of error. The first 23 seconds of the video show my progressive tunes to arriving at my perfect PIDs (which are also annotated on the graphs).

Now, regarding the bird I hit at 1:58, I think it was an Eastern Rosella Parakeet which as I understand it are not indigenous to NZ but were brought here from Australia. I got a sinking feeling after hitting it (completely by accident I might add) and I was later relieved to find it was able to fly away after the crash only leaving behind some tail feathers...phew! The irony of my Sparrow GEP MX3 with a new RunCam Sparrow cam almost killing a Parakeet did not escape me.
