(6 Jul 2015) ECE EGE PRESENTS FALL-WINTER COUTURE AT PARIS FASHION WEEK
The French-Turkish designer Ece Ege, half of the sister-run house Dice Kayek, presented the brand's fall-winter couture show Monday (6 JULY 2015) at the Decorative Arts museum in Paris.
She was feeling a certain nostalgia for the nightlife rituals of the 1970s and 80s, when people dressed up to go out to places such as Studio 54 and Le Palace. As a result, this collection centered around tuxedos and short, structured dresses with bell-shaped skirts.
Thick, technical silks and satins made for stiff, sculptural shapes, notably in the tuxes, which were tweaked and twisted for more contemporary flare. Colorful Swarovski crystals on dresses and in shoes brought a glimpse of decadence and glamour, while a hint of rock came through in the hairstyles. American pop artists such as Lichtenstein and Wesselmann inspired the sparkling motifs.
