The Origin Effects Cali 76 & SlideRIG compressors are a step above most other guitar pedal compressors. They're so clean and clear that if you owned a similarly high-quality reamp box, they'd work as a serious piece of outboard gear in a studio. The 1176-style compression circuit has a unique sound usually reserved for that purpose. With the Origin compressors, guitarists are able to harness that sound in a live setting.

The SlideRIG in particular is pretty cool. It features two stackable compressor circuits, with a shared attack & release knob. In this video, I want to go over why I made the decision to go with a dual compressor vs. an ordinary single design, as well as provide a bit of a rundown on how we can use different combinations of the two circuits in series. Lastly, what is "clean overdrive" and how do we get it?
