Rizza Islam and Marc Lamont Hill Debate Dylann Roof and the Death Penalty

A week ago, the fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals voted in favor of upholding the death sentence for Dylann Roof.

He is responsible for the 2015 Charleston Church shooting in South Carolina where he murdered nine Black congregants in cold blood. Marc Lamont Hill shared his unpopular opinion that he’s against Roof getting the death penalty. He got a lot of backlash on social media for his take.

Rizza Islam, a researcher, international activist and a member of the Nation of Islam, joins Hill on “Black News Tonight” to debate if Roof deserved the death penalty.
