C418 has managed to imprint a feeling and sonic aesthetic into our cultural conscious like few other video game soundtracks have managed to do. It may be the single reason for the shift in preception from viewing VGM from meere soundtracks to actual beasts of their own. The Minecraft soundtrack can stand on its feet alone, but the visual connection to the games gives it much more depth.

This is volume Beta, the second volume in the two part Minecraft soundtrack. It was included in the nether update, accompanying the change in visual aesthetic to a more gloomy and dark atmosphere. It´s very different from the first volume, and adds a stark contrast to the otherwise upbeat chiptune and pianodriven parts"

Q: Why did you upload a terrible sounding copy?
A: Since this is an archive of MY collection, i believe i should preserve everything (even the flaws). If you are looking for a place for high fidelity “audiophile” clean recordings, this channel is not it. I clean my records thoroughly before making a video.

Q: Can you upload [insert album]?
A: I upload what i have, and what i deem worth uploading. This excludes widly known records (Beatles as an eksample) and releases from huge labels that i evaluate as too risky for copyright reasons.

A: Sure!

Q: What are the recording specs?
A: All audio is recorded via USB out of my Dual DTJ 301.1 with an Audio Technica AT3600L cart to my Macbook Pro (2016) via Ableton. Audio is 192khz 24bit uncompressed wav. Video runs at 60fps with a 1080p resolution and has no audio.
Video editing is in Imovie and recorded with an Iphone 8.

Q: Are any of your recordings edited?
A: No. I do adjust volume if necessary but other then that the recordings are 100% unedited.
