Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) and the Associated Recreation Council (ARC) raised over $53,000 at their fourth annual Fund the Fun breakfast to support youth sports and recreation scholarships for families in need. Donations immediately went toward helping kids with the greatest health and socio-economic disparities in our community.

Taking place at Hyatt Olive 8 on April 28th, the program opened with a special taekwondo demonstration by students of ARC’s Board of Directors Vice President and Taekwondo Grand Master, Leon Preston. Leon is world renowned.

The keynote was Fred Rivera, the Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President and General Counsel. He shared an heartfelt video about their youth programs. And he addressed the lack of access and opportunity to sports which impacts the most vulnerable kids in our community most of all.

The event also featured an inspiring video, highlighting the impactful partnership between Seattle Parks and Recreation and ARC and their work in the community.
