Cheap dishwasher cleaner - does it work?

Cheap Lidl W5 dishwasher cleaner - does it work? I don't always trust cheap alternatives for expensive, own brand products, but I've decided to try Lidl dishwasher cleaner to remove limescale which builds up quickly because of very hard water. But even if your dishwasher looks clean, when grease and limescale builds up inside the hidden parts, it's not as hygienic as you think. I was pleased to see that Lidl W5 deep clean Dishwasher cleaner left the dishwasher nearly spotless.
I got the same effect with Finish dishwasher deep cleaner at 4 pounds a bottle, but Lidl's product is nearly 3 times cheaper so it's a much more affordable option! It's recommended for monthly use and hygienically removes hidden grease and limescale and cleans filter, spray arms, pipes, and heating element.
I can honestly recommend both Finish and Lidl W5 dishwasher cleaners , but as I can’t see the point to pay extra for the same effect, I'll stick to Lidl own brand from now on.
