The Five Forms of Prayer in the Catholic Church

Описание к видео The Five Forms of Prayer in the Catholic Church

How do we pray?

When many people hear the word "prayer," they think about us asking God for help, but that is only one way to pray.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC, 2623-2643) divides prayer into five forms: petition, intercession, thanksgiving, praise, and blessing.

1. Petition: Ask God to help you.
2. Intercession: Ask God to help others.
3. Thanksgiving: Give God gratitude.
4. Praise: Express God’s goodness.
5. Blessing: Invoke God’s grace.

This video offers a brief introduction to each of these forms (types) of prayer.
