JTS2 Ep 12: Lighting up Lesotho - from Sani Pass to Katse and everything in between!

After the thrill of Sani Pass, it was a short drive Sani Stone Lodge.

What a spectacular location, with their rondavels perched on the edge of the hilltop overlooking the valley and the river.

A chat with the owner in the morning and we had permission to set up camp down at the river for what was a truly incredible wild camping experience...this is why we overland, why we adventure, is to find places like this!

I loved getting to spend some time with the shepherds - such friendly, happy and content people - but the highlight without a doubt was getting one on the SUP with me! I am sure that's a first!

It was really tough to leave - could honestly have stayed there for a week - but we had few days left and a lot of distance to cover. As a 'car guy', driving Lesotho is incredible - amazing roads carving through such a beautifully dramatic landscape - but the going was slow and we ended up running out of daylight so made the call to overnight in Katse.

What a welcome to Lesotho!
