Chelsea reach agreement with€80m-rated Bundesliga attacker and 20-year-old Belgian attacker

Chelsea have already set their sights on Christopher Nkunku for a move in the 2023 summer transfer window, as Todd Boehly will continue building the squad next year. The London giants still have unfinished business in the current window, but planning has begun for their squad’s future.

The Blues have taken the summer transfer window by storm, becoming the highest spenders in this window in the top five leagues. Chelsea will make further signings before the transfer deadline, which could take their spending north of €300m.

Considering the long-term planning, the Blues want France international, and they are preparing to sign the attacker next summer. Christopher scored 35 goals and assisted 20 times in all tournaments, capping off a terrific season from a personal level.

Considering the spending patterns in the PL, €60m could be a great price even next summer. Chelsea, in particular, are looking at Nkunku and preparing to make a move in 2023. They face competition from Real Madrid, who stay keen on signing the 24-year-old attacker next year.

The French attacker will have a big decision next summer, as many teams will be vying for his signature. The Frenchman has already begun the new season in style, scoring twice in as many Bundesliga games. There will also be a World Cup between now and the end of the campaign, where Nkunku could feature if he keeps up his current form.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Stade Rennais forward Jeremy Doku. Belgium international has previously been courted by the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool and still has three years left on his deal with the French giants.

Jeremy Doku joined Ligue 1 club in the 2020 summer transfer window from Anderlecht and has since had two underwhelming campaigns with the team. Many injuries derailed his 2021/22 season, limiting him to only 18 games for the French club across all tournaments.

In all, the 20-year-old winger has played 56 games for Stade Rennes, scoring four times and assisting six goals. But at 20 years of age, the Belgian attacker still has time to continue his development and emerge a better footballer in the upcoming campaign.

After nothing materialised from Liverpool’s and Newcastle United’s previous interest, Chelsea have jumped into the transfer market for the Belgian and are keeping tabs on the winger. Chelsea have been on the lookout for attacking additions following the departures of Lukaku and Werner.

Both the centre-forwards left for their former teams. While Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan on a year-long loan deal, Timo Werner has re-joined RB Leipzig permanently after two sub-par seasons at Chelsea.

The London giants have so far only signed Raheem Sterling from Man City to address the issues in the final third but are still on the lookout for more signings. Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha is also a target for the Blues and might become a top option if Jeremy Doku simply remains on their radar.
