New Idria Ghost Town

Описание к видео New Idria Ghost Town

Following our exploration of the Serpentine Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) in the Clear Creek Management Area (CCMA) on July 4, we drove from Jade Mill campground through the New Idria ghost town to I5, before heading home. The town was named after the New Idria Mercury Mine, which operated between 1854 to 1972. In 2011, New Idria was listed as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund site, owing to unchecked mercury run-off and contamination.

The music in this video is from the album Guitar Nova by Erik Wøllo.
