Deities are integral to the Igbo tradition. There are so many deities in Igbo land with different functions.
1. Chukwu deity is believed to have created the world and everything in it, and is responsible for maintaining the balance and order of the universe. He is the deity which other deities are accountable to.
2. Akwari Omumu deity is associated with fertility and childbirths. She is the deity of productivity.
3. Amadioha deity is responsible for upholding justice, punishing wrongdoers, and maintaining moral order. Ekwensu deity has similar functions with Amadioha, but in addition to the functions of Amadioha deity, Ekwensu protects people.
4. Imo and Uga deities are believed to have the power to heal illnesses and protect against diseases.

5. Ogwugwu and Ekwuru deities offer protection and guidance to individuals and communities, ensuring their safety, well-being and successes.
