Jack Nitzsche was one of the great arrangers and composers of his time. His work with Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound and the Rolling Stones to his movie scores such as One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and An Officer and a Gentleman are still heard today. At one point, he teamed up with Marty Cooper to write, ’The Lonely Surfer; his chance to be an artist on his own.

I was honored to interview Marty about his work with Jack and other artists as well. This is Part One of the Jack Nitzsche conversation.
