A time-lapse video of the excavation of the 3.3 million year old deposits from which the earliest stone tools were recovered. This site is called Lomekwi 3, at west Turkana, in Northern Kenya. The time-lapse shows the gradual uncovering of the in situ artifacts and fossils during the month of July 2012. Refit between a core (LOM3-2011-l16-3) found in situ, and a flake on the surface (LOM3-2011 surf NW7).
