Mandya:
A property dispute between brothers turned fatal in Mandya district on Thursday, when a heated argument escalated into violence, leaving one man dead.

The incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of Keragodu police station. The victim, identified as Yogesh (35), was allegedly attacked by his elder brother and nephews during a quarrel over division of family property. In a fit of rage, the accused reportedly assaulted Yogesh with sharp weapons, causing severe injuries. He died on the spot.

After the incident, the accused fled from the scene. Police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection and shifted the body for post-mortem. A case of murder has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.

Preliminary investigation suggests that long-standing disputes over ancestral property were the main motive behind the crime. Further investigation is underway.
