Sensation prevailed in Assam's Sribhumi district as two factions within the Congress party engaged in a major fight during a party meeting. The incident happened last evening at Nilambazar where a meeting had been held under the chairmanship of the party's Assam general secretary Nasir Khan.
However heated arguments soon broke out between two factions dubbed as the old faction, consisting of old time members, and the new faction, consisting of new members who recently joined the party from AGP. The argument took an ugly form as both sides began to engage in a scuffle which became a full fledged fight right in front of the party leaders who appeared completely helpless.
