James MacKillop, Oxford Dictionary of Celtic Mythology – a must-have guide to Irish myths and legends.
Popular translations of Táin Bó Cuailnge are by Thomas Kinsella (reprinted many times) and Ciarán Carson.
An older telling is by Eleanor Hull (1909) but secondhand copies are expensive.
