Why you should draw with white charcoal on black paper

In this video, I talk about why artists should try working with white charcoal on black paper...or you could use another medium to achieve the same style and learning how to create different values and lighting within your work.
In this style of work, you focus exclusively on the highlights and let the black paper do part of the work for you. The more extreme the lighting is, the more interesting this style will look. Black subjects really come into their own here but any colour subject can work as shown in this video with two border terriers which came out lovely in this technique..
I use general's charcoal pencils and the paper is Clairefontaine paint on Noir.
