Hello guys, welcome to an unusual video in this channel, which is about the Klaipėda/Memel revolt, which happened between 01-10 and 01-15 in 1923. In 1922, the Lithuanian government decided to stage a revolt in the Allies' controlled Memelland and capture the region and annex it. Three armed groups were formed with about 1000 men in total and the operation started in 10th of January. In the first day, nearly the whole region was already captured, however it surrendered only in 15th of January of 1923. After four days Lithuania incorporated the region to its state. However after some tension with the Allies, it was officially annexed in 1924 as an autonomous region of Lithuania.
