When you activate Do not disturb mode in iPhone then all the calls and the text message notification sound will be silenced. But if you want to allow certain contact to ring or to notify you even in silent mode or do not disturb mode then let us see how to do it. For that one I will open phone icon and if you see there is at the bottom there is this option "Favorites". So enable this option. Then tap on the plus icon here. Now from here you have to select that contact whom you want to allow to notify you when you get a call or text message. Suppose if this is the contact I will select it and here also there are many options. If you want to allow the contact to notify you only for messages then you have to select messages. iIf you want to allow the contact to give you a call then you have to select "call". So let me select "Message" at first and then select the phone number. So now what happens is when this contact will send me a message then it will be notified to me even if the do not disturb mode will be activated. Similarly if I want to hear the call, hear the ringtone when this contact will give me a call then what I will do I will tap on this plus icon. Same tap on the contact and select "call" and the phone number. So I have selected two options for this contact to notify me when it sends me a message and when it gives me a call. Now after that what I will do I will go to this "settings" here. Then I will go to "Focus" - "Do not disturb". I will activate this option "Do not disturb" and then there is an option here "Allowed notifications". So let me select "people" and then there is an option "calls form". So I will select this one and then I will select "Favorites". So whatever the contacts I have saved in favorites like here, now this contact will be able to send me a message or it will be able to call me even if I have activated do not disturb mode in my iPhone.
