How to make a Steel Tongue Drum

Here's a video of how to make a steel tongue drum. I love this instrument and wanted to make one for a long time, but it was very hard to get any info about the process. I did some research and made my first steel tongue drum. Hope this helps you guys to make one yourself.

NOTE: CUTTING A (USED) PROPANE TANK IS NEVER A GREAT IDEA, BE AWARE AND CONTACT PROFESSIONALS IF YOU FEEL UNCERTAIN ABOUT ANYTHING! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GET EXPLODED.

Here are the sizes for the tongues I used:

Low:
C 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 11,45cm (4 1/2") long
D 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 10,8cm (4 1/4") long
E 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 10,16cm (4") long
F 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 9,8cm (3 7/8") long
G 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 9,5cm (3 3/4") long
A 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 8,9cm (3 1/2") long
B 6,9cm (2 3/4") wide x 8,6cm (3 3/8") long

High:
C 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 7,6cm (3") long
D 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 7,3cm (2 7/8") long
E 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 6,9cm (2 3/4") long
F 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 6,7cm (2 5/8") long
G 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 6cm (2 3/8") long
A 5,4cm (2 1/8") wide x 5,7cm (2 1/4") long

I recommend to make the cuts with a rotatory tool first, but then continuing with a hacksaw blade. It is difficult to tune the drum because even the slightest cut will easily tune it too low. If you happen to tune the tongue too low you can either change all the tongues so that they are in a lower key, or you can try to use a file to make the tongue size smaller (as shown in the video).
