UTKILTS: What is your Scottish clan and tartan?

This is going to be a simple an easy way to find out what clans / families you are related to and which tartans you would have a connection to.
Family Tree
First you will want to have quick access to your family tree. All you have to do is go back through the generations and note all of the last names of people that are in or near Scotland. In the video you can see that I find names like Davis, MacCullough, Davies, etc. You will want to make note of those on a separate paper or document. Once you have those, we can go to the clan search

Here all you have to do is go alphabetically through your names to see if you can find connections to any of the clans or if the name is already a larger clan that is its own. Not all your names will show up here, but many more than likely will. Make note of the clans you found on a separate paper or document.

You can now go to our special order listings and find the tartans you discovered in the previous step. They are listed in alphabetical order and have a search function to help. Keep in mind that some tartans are only available from the weaving mills in Scotland. These are labeled with Made in Scotland in the title. While they do cost more, they do have a much wider selection
