Concept.

In robot video message the scene is one which we might witness in the very near future: an intelligent machine, specifically a robot, trying to communicate in an unknown language.

In a hypothetical reality, something like this would probably frighten the robot’s programmers into pulling the plug.

Besides that, it wouldn’t be a novelty. Everything that is unknown or uncomprehensible ends up making people feel awkward or could even incite fear, aversion or hostility.

How much independence we should allow artificial intelligence in learning and developing its own language is one of the most sensitive yet imperative issues we face today.


Genesis of the animation.

The naif appearance of the robot was created using specific software, first developing then assembling various types of images from different sources.

The audio is 5-second samples (copyright free) which were mixed using audio editing software to create the soundtrack.

Images and sound were animated using video editing software.
