La Fontcalda is a sanctuary located in Gandesa, 81 kilometers from the city of Tarragona. It is also the nearby hot spring from which the town takes its name. Its water, which flows from the Canaletas River and filters through the narrow rock formations, creating waterfalls and pools, is characterized by its 28-degree temperature and healing properties: calcium chloride and carbonate, magnesium sulfate, and sodium chloride.

Popularly known as the Fuente de los Chorros (Fountain of the Jets), Fontcalda is a natural spa ideal for enjoying with family or friends in an incomparable natural setting. It's located between the Mola and Crestall mountain ranges, in Terres de l'Ebre , next to the 14th-century sanctuary, where pilgrims once came for the quality of its water. Today, pilgrimages and masses are still celebrated there.

Sadly, the site also served as a setting for the Battle of the Ebro during the Spanish Civil War. Nearby is the village of Corbera, which was bombed during the conflict. You can visit the old trenches and the museum that chronicles their history.
