ZIL-41047 is an executive-class car with a limousine-type body. It represents the third and last restyling of the ZyL-114 generation model.

Due to the arrival of the new General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1985, the production of ZIL-41047, which replaced the ZIL-41045 model, was started. Dual headlights have become rectangular, the radiator grill is styled differently, the rear lights have been replaced, and the turn signals have been moved to the ends of the wings. The revolving windows on the front doors have disappeared. Earlier, from 1976 to 1983, the ZIL-4104 (ZIL-115) model was produced with modifications, then from 1983 to 1985 - ZIL-41045 with modifications; both models were distinguished by round headlights and a number of other technical parameters. Technical refinement of some car systems was also carried out in order to comply with international environmental standards for the toxicity of exhaust gases. The ZIL-4104 engine was equipped with a contactless electronic ignition system. In 1988, the hydromechanical transmission underwent modernization: the design of the freewheel clutch and several adjacent parts was changed, which increased the reliability of the unit. ZIL-41047 got 16-inch wheels and even wider (265 mm) "rubber". The tires of the special brand "Granit" had a design that allowed moving with a depressurized wheel, which was achieved due to the very hard sidewalls of the tire and the special gel inside. The cars were intended for the service of members of the Politburo.
