---------ABOUT THE VIDEO---------

This video was originally uploaded to our other channel, Casual Navigation, back in 2018.

An "in depth" look at Rule 15 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, the COLREGS. The COLREGS are the rules of the road that vessels must obey at sea to avoid collisions.

Rule 15 details crossing situations. In this video I go into detail about each part of the rule and give a few examples of how to apply the rule at sea.

---------RULE 15---------

Rule 15: Crossing situation

When two power-driven vessels are crossing so as to involve risk of collision, the vessel which has the other on her own starboard side shall keep out of the way and shall, if the circumstances of the case admit, avoid crossing ahead of the other vessel.
