Gajananayutham is a Muthuswamy Dikshitar Kriti. In this item the poet describes the elephant headed god – gajanana as the lord who is worshipped by bhutaganas and devas. He is the remover of obstacles and he is one who symbolizes the pranavakara this item is set to chakravaka ragam and adi talam. The dancer here prays to the almight ganesha to shower his kindness and benevolence to all the people. He is the one who is the symbol of prosperity and success. May his blessings be bestowed to one and all.

About the Artist
Anusha Kalluri is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer known for her technique and command of the field. Enthusiastic and passionate about art, she thrives not only in classroom settings as a teacher but also, on stage as a performer. She has done her MA in performing arts from the University of Hyderabad. She has established an academy `Srinidhi Arts Academy’ where she teach basics to students from ages 4 to 16.
Her academy has performed in Vasantha Navarathri Utsav, Sri Sita Ramanjaneya Swami Temple, Vinyaka Utsav, Dasara Festival – Govt of Telangana and many other platforms.
She has also served as a TV Anchor for Doordarshan, RTV, Maa TV.
She was initiated into Kuchipudi dance at a young age and is received her training from eminent guru Smt.Geetha Madhuri and is presently undergoing her training under Prof.Anuradha Jonnalagadda and. She is also a part of dance resource centre – Natyamitram which is headed by Dr.Himabindu Kanoj


About Kuchipudi
Kuchipudi is a Traditional & Popular Indian classical dance style. Emerging from a rich dance drama tradition, Kuchipudi was popularised by Padmabhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam. Kuchipudi is originally the name of a village in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, 35 kms from Vijayawada. It is believed that in the 17th century Kuchipudi style of Yakshagaana was conceived by Siddhendra Yogi, a talented Vaishnava poet and visionary. Guided by Teerthanaaraayana Yogi who composed the Krishna Leela Tarangini. Siddhendra Yogi had initiated young Brahmin boys of Kuchipudi village to practice and perform his compositions particularly Bhaamaakalaapam. Kuchipudi Dance was performed in front of the Nawab of Golconda, Abdul Hasan Tanishah and he was so impressed that he issued a copper plate in 1675 A.D. granting the village Kuchipudi to the families of Brahmins who pursued this art.
