This video introduces and explains beta decay and its nuclear equations for A Level Physics.

There are two types of beta decays: beta minus (β-) and beta plus (β+) decay. Beta minus decay occurs when a neutron decays into a proton, an electron and an electron antineutrino (which conserves the Lepton number). Beta plus decay occurs when a proton decays into a neutron, an antielectron (a positron) and an electron neutrino.
