On June 15, 2017, we had severe thunderstorms coming through the area. Lightning was so powerful, one strike actually set off our fire alarm system in the apartment building. Thankfully, the power did not go out, but the fire department did arrive. I checked the door of my apartment to make sure it was not hot. There was no fire, but a malfunction of the alarms caused by lightning.
