Taking you throughout all steps of fixing - rebuilding a speaker.
Step 1: take apart.

I made a marker - to have the initial position. - HB pencil.

I used a box cutter for the outer/upper spider - use the blunt not the sharp size
for the lower side I put some nail polish disolvant/remover - to soften the glue for the fabric/lower spider

Step 2: save old coil by using a battery - use + and - correctly (polarities) and this will spit the speaker out - leaving the coil mostly intact - and will save you the hassle of redoing the coil.
Step 3. coil.
Either re-glue the old coil with wood paint or redo the coil.
To recoil - use old paper cylinder - or create the new one - but make sure it is the correct depth and diameter - test the paper first in the magnet.
Put the paper on a work cylinder - it has to be rigid - in the field they use wood cylinders to the exact same size. - I put a paper on top of the cylinder - then I put the speaker paper so it is easier to remove.
I used baking paper - and wood paint (lacquer)

1. put lacquer on the paper,

2. start winding.

go from left to right with the speaker facing you - do the first layer -

3. paint the first layer with a black marker - apply lacquer/varnish again - let it dry at least 3-4 hours.
4. come back with the second layer of coil.
Step 4. re-center and glue the speaker back. (I used the old marker)
reconnect both coil ends to the speaker wires.

Step 5.

Apply dust cap back

Step 6.
Reconnect speaker in the box - respect polarities. (plus is the exit from the coil)
Hopefully I will do a complete shorter video on just the coil.

Last part of the video is for treble speakers or smaller speakers where redoing the coil may be a challenge - I ended up taking apart some old TV speakers - working and reusing the coil in other speakers - I compared old and new (recovered) coil - and they seemed similar in specs - almost same depth(number of coil-overs )/diameter and wire size - reattached TV speaker coil to my speaker - centered it - and reconnected wires to coil - and although the coils came from different speakers they sound pretty much balance in the new magnets.


fix RFT speaker, bang and olufsen, goodman medium frequency speaker (reuse the coil from a TV speaker in a medium frequency goodmands speaker) - TV speaker sounded in one way (had bass and treble) and the goodmand sounded I think correctly with the TV sp coil (mainly produces voice - no bass, not that much treble).
