150+ CARTONS OF ILLEGAL LIQUOR (FOR SALE IN HARYANA ONLY) RECOVERED
ONE MAHINDRA PICKUP VEHICLE CONTAINING ILLEGAL LIQUOR WAS SEIZED
ONE ACCUSED PERSON NAMELY SANDEEP ARRESTED
The diligent team of AATS West District has done a commendable work by arrested one bootlegger namely Sandeep, age 27 years along with the recovery of 153 cartons of illegal liquor (7671 quarters) and one vehicle used for transportation.
*INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION
On 21.04.2024, information was received by HC Rajender Lather regarding the transport of illegal liquor in a Mahindra Bolero Pickup vehicle from the side of Ring Road, Rajouri Garden, and heading through Punjabi Bagh Club Road. Upon receiving the information, a dedicated team consisting of SI Happy Kumar, HC Rajender Lather, HC Kuldeep, HC Naveen, Ct. Naveen, and Ct. Kalu Ram, under the close supervision of Inspector Manish Chaudhary, IC/AATS, and overall supervision of Shri Arvind Kumar, ACP/Operations, was constituted.
As per the information, checking near the DTC Bus Depot, Punjabi Bagh, was initiated, and at approximately 05:00 AM, the aforementioned vehicle was sighted coming from the Ring Road side. The Bolero Pickup was attempted to be stopped with the help of a private vehicle. However, the driver of the Mahindra Bolero Pickup turned around, and at the T-point of Baba Ramdev Marg and Club Road, Panjabi Bagh, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently overturned. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and identified as Sandeep, son of Tej Singh, resident of District Bhiwani, Haryana, aged 27 years. Upon checking, around 7,300 quarters of illegal liquor intended for sale in Haryana only were recovered. Around 370 bottle caps of broken liquor bottles were also recovered from the alleged vehicle which might have broken due to overturning of vehicle. A case under sections 33/38/58 of the Delhi Excise Act, was registered at PS Panjabi Bagh. The accused was arrested, and the illegal liquor was seized.
