reading the personal statement that got me into maths at cambridge | isolation diaries ep. 2

day 2 of isolation and i've resorted to reading out my personal statement on youtube. things r going downnnn.

that said, in a way it's kind of satisfying realising how little i knew about maths when i was applying over 3 years ago compared to now having come to the end of my degree. back in the day when cutting up mobius strips was the most exciting thing we did in school...

hope this is entertaining (and useful? maybe?), my main takeaway would be that personal statements for maths are a bit dumb and no one really cares (especially cambridge) so it's much more simple than it sounds - all you gotta do to apply is to like maths. that's it really.
