Courtesy of the Clark Santee archives, some bona fide rock'n'roll mayhem from Country Joe and the Fish, fresh from their performance at Woodstock in 1969, performing The Love Machine before a live television audience. Country Joe and the Fish (featuring Barry Melton on lead vocals here) were never widely accepted by the mainstream and likely deemed offensive to "the Man", but loved by the counter-culture. Curiously The Love Machine sounds not unlike the template for Jethro Tull's subsequent hit Locomotive Breath.
