The Velliangiri trek is one of the most challenging and spiritually significant treks in South India. Here’s what you need to know:

Total Distance: 14 km (one way)
Elevation: ~1778 meters (5833 feet)
Duration: 6-7 hours to reach the peak
Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult
Best Time to Visit: February to May (before monsoon)
2. Trekking Route & Stages
The trek is divided into seven steep hill sections:

First Hill – Dense forest, steep stone steps.
Second Hill – Rocky terrain with slightly easier pathways.
Third Hill – Dense bamboo forests.
Fourth Hill – Open terrain with small streams.
Fifth Hill – More rock formations, relatively steeper.
Sixth Hill – Narrow paths, windier sections.
