Kalahantarita--- the word literally means one who is away( antarita) because of fight ( kalaha) .
So the nayikaa who is separated from her beloved/ husband because of a fight is called Kalahantarita.. here she experiences guilt or regrets her harsh behavior to her beloved and having sent him away on his approach.

My personal take-

As she is also a Swiya Naayikaa ( who is devoted to one man/her beloved one). She loves him madly and when she realizes the depth of her love towards him she is ready to accept him to all his flaws in her life.

The composition....

I have chosen a very popular composition in Tamil " KURAI ONDRUM ILLAI " . where the naayikaa/ devotee tells Krishna that " even if you are not seen to me , even if you hide behind vied curtains , I still have no complaints, I know you are the ocean of mercy and compassion .. the devotee clearly says " Krishna you are one who never tells NO to anything or never turn your face from any of your devotees....

My take on this composition....

May not be thought by many as a kalahantarita piece .. but if we see the lyrics , it clearly says " i have no complaints " and that indirectly could mean " what ever you do , am ready to accept, however you are am ready to accept, because I love you madly " ..and thus this composition further explains her urge to plead with him ( an approach to indirectly call him or get him back in her life ) ...

The line where the devotee tells " YOU SAY NO TO ANYTHING " it clearly shows her hope that Krishna won't say No to her apologetic heart , Krishna won't send her back because she is experiencing guilt for her previous deeds ( an artistic freedom of my imagination)

Why a devotional take on this naayikaa....

Once a person realizes his/ her any mistakes and feels apologetic, that’s close to spirituality, self realization is nothing but realization of "BRAMHAN ".. its the pure and unconditional love which makes her surrender in front of her beloved...inspite of being correct , her willingness to surrender to her lord shows the tenderness and purity of her heart , AND PARAMATMA CAN NEVER THROW THAT PURE SOUL..

So I personally feel that kalahantarita is not only a part of SWIYA NAAYIKAA or one among the Ashta Naayikaas , she is also a CLASSY WOMAN a UTTAMA NAYIKAA and spiritual in character 🙏🙏🙏
