In this video I cover the history of web design and development (how website tools changed over time) and the future of building websites with “no-code” platforms (specifically, Editor X).

Web design has come a long way since I build my first website in 1996 and my first paid freelance website in 1997. Back in the old days, we would use Telnet to connect to a server and write our code directly on the live website.

Since those “good ol' days” methods for building websites have gone through massive changes. Usability standards have been solved and tons of website development platforms have been invented. However, a constant challenge has stared designers in the face: most of the tools still require a knowledge of code and an ability to manage backend systems for website hosting and domains.

Over the past couple years we have entered into the era of "building websites without code" thanks to platforms like Editor X.

In this video I take you on a little journey through the history of building websites (my personal experiences watching the platforms change over my entire career) and I show you the future of building websites using “no-code” systems (in this case Editor X).

I’ll walk you through the Editor X platform, show you how easy it is to build a site, review some examples of awesome websites built using Editor X and highlight how Editor X solves the problems that face web designers…no need to know code, no need to be able to manage servers and domains…all you need to do is design and you can do it in a true WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) platform.
