Reaction from Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood at Edgbaston on Friday after England and the tourists traded blows on a high-octane opening day of the 2023 Ashes series.
Joe Root's 30th Test century - his first Ashes ton in eight years - was the highlight for the hosts, who won the toss, decided to bat and attempted to dominate the tourists with the now familiar attacking style of captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum.
It didn't quite come off, despite Root's unbeaten 118, Jonny Bairstow's explosive 78 and Zak Crawley's fluent 61 at the top of the order.
England had to recorver from a shaky-looking 176 for 5 after Stokes was dismissed for just one and Root and Bairstow steadied the ship by adding 121 for the sixth wicket.
Stokes declared at 393 for eight - the earliest declaration in Ashes history after just 78 overs of the match.
Nathan Lyon was the pick of the Australia attack, with 4-149 and wicketkeeper Alex Carey had a 'five-for' of sorts, with three catches and two stumpings.
Australia's openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja survived four tense overs before reaching 14-0 at stumps.
Their senior batsmen will fancy their chances of getting close or even passing England's first innings score on a good batting surface.
On the other hand, greater cloud cover and cooler temperatures are expected for Saturday, which could help England's bowlers.
