This new song is based on Isaiah 30:15-18

v.15) For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says, “In returning (to Me) and in resting (in Me) you will be set free into wide open spaces. Your strength will come through settling down into quiet stillness (with Me) and through confidently trusting (in Me).

But your unyielding will would have none of it. You refused.

v.16) Instead, you said, ‘No! We would rather take charge, fleeing on horses.’

And so you will flee.

Instead, you said , ‘No! We would rather do things our way and ride away on the fastest horses we can find.’

But your chasers will be faster.

v.17) One thousand people will flee at the mere threat of one person, and you will flee when five threaten you, until you are left all alone, vulnerable and exposed like a flagpole on top of a mountain or like a signpost on a hill.

v.18) Meanwhile, the Eternal Lord waits, waits, waits. God passionately yearns to rise up, cascading you with grace and compassion. That is why God waits on high. For the Eternal Lord is a God of justice (the God Who rights wrongs and changes hearts). The people who lean into God, waiting for God’s help, are the blessed ones.”
