The Quarrymen singing 'Putting On The Style' on 6th July 1957 - the day that John Lennon met Paul McCartney. This version is edited from available tapes to make it flow better. Unfortunately, I couldn't do much to improve the poor sound recording. An interesting note, original Quarrymen member, Rod Davis, has stated that John used to sometimes change the last verse to include the name of the local preacher at St Peter's, Rev. Maurice Price Jones. John would sing, 'But it's only Mr Price Jones, putting on the style'. Unfortunately John didn't sing these alternative lyrics on this occasion.
